In Canada, we celebrate five seasons — spring, summer, fall, winter, and the NHL playoffs. Spring and summer are nice. Fall and winter aren’t bad. But the NHL playoffs are always magical. Even if you’re not a dyed in the wool hockey fan it’s hard to not get swept up in water cooler talk about multi-overtime heroics, impossible underdog wins, and epic Game 7 showdowns.

It’s easy to think of YouTube as little more than the world’s largest collection of videos featuring cats, people falling down, and grainy concerts. Sure, if that’s what you’re looking for, the original video streaming giant has it all in spades. But as YouTube aims to join the ranks of streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, and Crave, it’s been quietly building a library of original shows.
