Convergence Conference in Calgary

This year the Convergence Conference is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Formerly known as the ATLE conference,  it was renamed the Convergence Conference to more accurately reflect its objective of bringing a variety of technical elements, staff, educators and leaders from school jurisdictions together with new technology trends in Education.

This year they have partnered with AAHEIT, which represents IT staff from Alberta Post-Secondary Institutions, representing people involved in technology, education, and leadership (the three pillars of ATLE) from Kindergarten through Post-Secondary.

The conference started small, with less than 150 attendees and has now grown to over 500 attendees and 150 delegates and exhibitors. This is also the first year that the conference is being held in Calgary.

The unique nature of this conference is demonstrated by the fact that the majority of the sessions put on at Convergence are submitted from K-12 and post-secondary schools and staff, which highlight and showcase the work being done for students across Alberta.

Axia will be presenting today at 10am and will be sharing with delegates the transition from SuperNet Legacy to NGN Services, Axia will be providing a refresher on the organization, the services available and ways to leverage those services, some of the significant organizational initiatives underway and what’s to come over the next few years. Following the presentation will be an opportunity for an open discussion and question period.
